The Balwaan BX-50 is a 50 cc side pack brush cutter for cutting standing crops and grass, carried on the shoulder with a jacket belt. Its single-cylinder OHV four-stroke petrol engine delivers 1.5 kW (1.8 HP) at 7,000 rpm, runs from a 650 ml tank and starts with a recoil starter. Balwaan supplies three cutting tools: an 80-tooth alloy steel blade for dry standing crops such as wheat, paddy, maize and soya bean, a 3-tooth blade for dense undergrowth and weeds, and a nylon Tap n Go head for hedges and garden grass. The machine tilts through 360 degrees and weighs 8.8 kg net.
