Description

The Makita UG001GZ is a 40Vmax XGT cordless ground trimmer with a brushless motor and a 500 mm cutting width. Instead of a spinning nylon head, it uses T-shaped shear blades set at 90 degrees to the shaft, so it cuts by pushing forward rather than swinging side to side, which Makita says scatters less stone and debris. It runs at two speeds, 1,500 or 2,000 min-1, giving 3,000 or 4,000 strokes per minute and 160 or 90 minutes of runtime on a BL4040F battery. The handle height adjusts tool-lessly to three positions, and the trimmer stands on its own three wheels when not in use. It weighs 10 kg.
