The Makita DJS161 is an 18V LXT cordless straight metal shear with a 1.6 mm maximum cutting capacity in mild steel, running at 4,300 strokes per minute. Makita states its double-blade design minimises material distortion for a clean cut, with a straight body for control and manoeuvrability, and the ability to cut curves thanks to its radius-cutting capability. It has an anti-restart function with a warning lamp, an alert light for overload or low battery, and externally accessible brushes for servicing.
