Makita 2012NB 304 mm Automatic Thickness Planer

The Makita 2012NB is a 304 mm benchtop thickness planer for dimensioning timber to a set thickness. Makita rates the motor at 1,650 W and the no-load speed at 8,500 RPM, with a planing depth of up to 3 mm on stock up to 150 mm wide, reducing to 1.5 mm on wider stock up to 240 mm. It uses double-edged planer blades and an automated head clamp that Makita states eliminates snipe, the dip cut that can otherwise appear at the start or end of a pass. At around 27 kg, it is designed to sit on a bench or stand for workshop use.
