The Metabo SE 17-200 RT is a burnishing machine built for "sanding, satin-finishing, brushing and high-gloss polishing of, e.g., stainless steel," taking abrasive belts or wheels from 100-200 mm diameter and 50-100 mm wide. Its 1,700 W motor (1,070 W output) runs at a variable 800-3,000 rpm, set by a thumbwheel through Metabo's VTC electronics, and a spindle lock with a tool-free flange nut speeds up accessory changes; the guard and side handle also adjust without tools. Electronic soft start, restart protection, overload protection and auto-stop carbon brushes protect the Marathon motor. It weighs 2.9 kg, threads onto an M14 spindle and runs on a 4 m cable.
