INSIZE supplies it as a 5m-long, 13mm-wide roll of hardened alloy steel, from which a length can be cut to set spacing accurately or to check a gap of that thickness by sliding it in like a standard feeler gauge blade. Being sold by the roll rather than as a fixed blade, it suits jobs needing long or non-standard shim lengths, such as packing out machine guards or setting welding gaps.
