Description

This INSIZE edge finder has a hardened Ø10mm shank and a Ø6mm contact point, with an accuracy of 8μm. INSIZE recommends running it at a machine spindle speed of 400 to 600rpm. Chucked into the spindle and spun, its eccentric tip centres itself against a workpiece edge, giving a visible wobble that stops the moment true contact is made, so the operator can read the edge position off the machine's own scales. Being a simple mechanical accessory with no battery or electronics, it is a quick way to set a machining datum on a mill or drill press.
